divine machte sich in den späten siebziger jahren zunächst einen namen als skuriller schauerspieler in john waters filmen (u.a. hairspray, pink flamingos), bevor der travestie-künstler dann in den frühen 80er jahren von erfolgsproduzent bobby orlando (u.a. pet shop boys, the flirts) auch für plattenveröffentlichungen produziert wurde, die den typischen bobby-o disco-sound hatten. innerhalb von knappen 3 jahren landete divine dann auch einen großen hit nach dem anderen, bis er schliesslich 1988 auf tragische weise ums leben kam. doch seine songs sind bis heute unvergessen geblieben.

one of the key tracks on pajaro sunrise latest studio album kulturkatzenjammer, the happy-sad *long forgotten flowers*, gets a hypnotic house treatment from hivern veteran marc piñol. the melancholy disappears to make way for a more hedonistic sound, more than doubling the songs length in the process.
more dance floor action comes from up and coming rbma alumnus clip!, who reshapes the introverted *good to see you* into a straight-up piano house monster.
as if that werent enough, these fine remixes are accompanied by the rather eerie non-album track *guess things happen that way*, a cover of the cowboy jack clement-penned 1958 johnny cash hit. yuri méndez, jr. at his darkest.
this holographic release was inspired by black hole thermodynamics. in the case of omni, the insight was that the sound content of all fallen objects might be contained in surface fluctuations of the event horizon. siren to siren is microscopically random, like a hot gas. a known configuration of classic tape sounds has zero entropy: there is nothing random about binary configurations. if one throws a hot gas with entropy into the g count, the entropy would disappear - producing aggressive bandwidths, and ragga baselines.

newcastle upon tyne (uk) based turquoise blue presents a very special release featuring four original tracks from non-other than kostas tassopoulos – better known to many as ekkohaus. for those unfamiliar with turquoise blue, the label has been causing quite a stir ever since its first release in 2011, featuring music from household names including laura jones, kris wadsworth, dj w!ld and djebali, among many others. it was clear from early releases on heavyweight labels including morris audio, 2020 vision and liebe detail that this was a man with a big future but, to many, it was ekkohaus album release in may 2013 that defined him as a major player in the game. released by matthias tanzmann’s moon harbour recordings, the album topped many a download chart and was a firm favourite with djs around the globe. this is a landmark release for turquoise blue, which started life as a digital only label but after starting to press vinyl in september 2012, the label has gone full circle with this, their debut vinyl-only release. not only does this release sound incredible but it looks sublime and is as much a collector’s item as it is a dj tool. a limited run of 300 will be pressed on heavyweight, clear marbled vinyl.

second release of the gost zvuk label, strictly focused on the contemporary russian electronic scene. this joint was made by aem rhythm-cascade also known as dada ques and many other monikers. locked in his studio in st. pete he built his path from a beatmaker to a fundamental composer exploring the acoustics, sound synthesis and sampling techniques. it is hard to relate this music to a certain genre, but you can definitely hear the quality and deepness, spiced with the original slavic touch. simple and raw these multilayered symphonies bring out the new breed of russian composers backed up by their prolific heritage.
through the years, dragosh has established a solid following for his quality releases like his recent appearance on the fabric mix series compilation mixed by no less than arpiars rhadoo. teoria is a finely crafted ep of four tracks where intricate rhythms coalesces with synth pads and textures to create mystic atmospheres. the last touch is given by another talented romanian artist like priku, who reconstructed didiracrac giving it his typical sound signature.

from the executive producer chez damier come a special edition release marking the 20th anniversary of balance and prescription records. side a. the mission: lavida (life) is a project and group from switzerland that was produce by chez damier and italian producer demetrio giannice, the track is deep with choped vocals of chez and chaka khan, very chord driven with a jazzy feel as the break of the track. a2. is a young group of french producers from paris called siler & dima , thomas zander with track called: inappropriate, a deep driven track with spoken words , more minimal and was inspired by some of ron and chez early works, this is for sure new school and very club friendly. side b is a remastered version of the rare prescription underground mix of ron trent and chez damier s classic --the choice-- this is one of the dance classics that helped shaped a new underground sound for the club, with ripping synth, raw snares and high strings, this 20 year old track hold up as well as a track made today.
